The Marconi Airport in Bologna, Italy, flies over 5 million passengers every year. And each of them needs up-to-date information about their flight, weather conditions upon arrival, or the various parking fees available. For a few years now, we’ve been helping Bologna Airport to improve the travel services they offer through their mobile platforms.
We started with the website: we wanted it to have a short URL blq.it and work seamlessly on all smartphones.
We then developed one iPhone app with a first set of information features, as well as the capability to book parking spaces and meeting rooms. And in 2012 we added the Android app.
At the end of 2012, we launched new app versions, with new features like Marconi Airport social links and push notifications to send passengers urgent information.
In 2013 we won a three-year contract bid for the launch and ongoing development of the new website. It’s fully responsive, designed around the needs of the various kinds of users and browsing scenarios, and integrated with the new apps for smartphones and tablets. The website has been developed by Endurance from Bologna.
Throughout the years, we’ve worked on a number of other projects for Marconi Airport: we’ve designed the livery for some of their vehicles, the map for their new terminal, the light signs for their parking sites, as well as some advertising campaigns.
