Più Libri Junior

Client

A literary game for kids organized in connection with Più Libri Più Liberi – National Trade Show of Small and Medium Publishers.

Year 2014 - In corso

In 2013 we started working with Minimondi to develop Più Libri Junior, a contest for students and schools that takes place outside the trade show and aims at promoting creative writing.

The contest is open to students of primary and lower secondary schools in Rome. The rules for Più Libri Junior are published in a brochure specifically designed for the event. When you open it, one side contains the instructions for the contest, and on the other side there’s a poster for classroom walls. The goal is to foster creativity and imagination, to create short stories that are based on a different theme each year.

A selection of the best short stories is then published, and the book is presented at Più Libri Più Liberi trade show.

We started in 2013, with the contest about typefaces Sei un Typo originale? Raccontacelo! (Are you an original Type? Tell us about that!). Playing on the double meaning of ‘character’ (i.e. typographic and people’s characters), students were prompted to describe their personalities. As a source of inspiration, the game continues inside the poster with a series of illustrations by Anonima Impressori. They used their rich typographic archive to create compositions showing various types of characters: Modern, Technological, Curious, and more.

In 2014 we wanted to play on the dialogue between literature and science, and the result was E pur si muove! Da Galileo a Margherita. Adotta uno scienziato e narra le sue gesta (And yet it moves! From Galileo to Margherita. Adopt a scientist and tell their feats), with illustrations by Olimpia Zagnoli.

In 2015 watercolours by Alessandro Sanna illustrated E Luce fu. Rinascita. Rinnovamento. Scoperta. Cos’è la luce? (And there was light. Rebirth. Renewal. Discovery. What’s light?)

In 2016 Guido Scarabattolo and his pencil brought to life Sono tutte storie. Cosa si nasconde dietro a un libro? (They’re all stories. What is hiding behind a book?) On that occasion we asked young writers to create their stories drawing inspiration from mysterious characters hiding behind books.
